ASSISTANT PROFESSOR
DEPARTMENT OF COUNSELOR EDUCATION

POSITION: 

Stetson University seeks an individual with distinctive skills in counselor education for a twelve-month, full-time, tenure-track appointment as an assistant professor.  In addition to teaching in the regular CACREP-curriculum, the candidate will contribute to the Department’s mission and expansion in certificate programs, particularly related to play therapy, trauma counseling, and parent coaching. 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in Counselor Education from a CACREP-accredited institution.  Experience in teaching and mentoring Master’s level students, as well as in supervising practicum and internship experiences are required.

Preference will be given to candidates who are licensed in mental health counseling and/or marriage and family counseling, or the equivalent.   

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The teaching load is two courses per semester, including summer.  Primary teaching responsibilities center on the three CACREP-accredited programs in Marriage, Couple and Family Counseling, Clinical Mental Health, and School Counseling.

THE COMMUNITY:

DeLand is a picturesque residential community of 25,000 located 20 miles west of Daytona Beach and 35 miles northeast of Orlando. The area offers extensive cultural as well as recreational activities.

SALARY:

Salary is competitive.
