Oakland University – Assistant/Associate Professor Position
Department of Counseling
Position: The Department of Counseling at Oakland University, Rochester, Michigan, is seeking applicants for one tenure-track assistant/associate professor faculty position available beginning August 15, 2014. The position will be a full-time appointment with the possibility of Summer teaching. We will begin reviewing applications November 15, 2013 and continue reviewing applications until the position is filled.
Salary: Competitive and dependent upon qualifications and experience.
Responsibilities: Teach and conduct scholarly activities in CACREP accredited master’s programs and doctoral program in both mental health and school counseling.
Qualifications: A doctorate or ABD in Counselor Education/Counseling (CACREP or CACREP equivalent); eligibility for Michigan license as a professional counselor and/or school counselor; teaching experience; competence in working with students from
diverse populations and backgrounds; and a demonstrated ability and/or a strong potential to develop a program of research. Preferred characteristics include strong teaching ability in CACREP core areas and experience working with children and adolescents.
The Department: The Department of Counseling offers a Master of Arts in Counseling withan emphasis in mental health counseling or school counseling. A doctoral program is offered with a choice of the following cognate areas: Mental Health Counseling, Couple and FamilyCounseling, Child and Adolescent Counseling, Advanced Career Counseling, Addiction Counseling, School Counseling or Wellness Counseling. Both the Master of Arts and theDoctoral programs are CACREP Accredited.
