Disability Rights Florida, Inc. operates Florida's federally
mandated and state designated protection and advocacy system for persons with
disabilities. The organization is a private, non-profit corporation with a
staff of 59 who work in the Tallahassee headquarters office, two regional
offices, and other strategic locations across the state. The Search Committee
of the Board of Directors is conducting a search for an Executive Director. The
Executive Director is stationed in the Tallahassee office, but some in-state
and out-of-state travel is required. The Executive Director is responsible for
managing the operations and staff of the organization and reports directly to
the Board of Directors.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience and
knowledge of Florida's service delivery system for persons with disabilities,
excellent written and verbal communications skills, managing a wide range of
activities related to the organization's fiscal affairs, staffing and
personnel, program operations, public policy and legislative affairs. Proven
leadership, planning and organizational skills, the ability to build
collaborative relationships with like-minded organizations, and the ability to
earn the trust and respect of, and work effectively with diverse groups of
people are required. Juris Doctor is preferred, but not required.
