AMHCA CALL FOR PROGRAMS

Dear Colleague:

As announced in the Advocate earlier this month, the American Mental Health Counselors Association is now accepting proposals for Thriving in the New Era of Healthcare Reform, the 2014 AMHCA Annual Conference, taking place in Seattle, July 10-12, 2014.
Share Your Knowledge & Experiences!We invite AMHCA members, mental health counseling students and other mental health professionals to present their research and expertise at the only conference devoted entirely to the mental health counseling profession. Get full details on the submission and selection process

Types of Programs: Three-hour workshop*
Two-hour workshop*
One-hour program*
Poster session
* Please note that at least one co-presenter must have completed their master's program for 1- 2- and 3- hour sessions. At least one co-presenter must be a member of AMHCA-National. ALL presenters and co-presenters MUST register for the conference.

If you are looking for ideas for your submission, you might consider the following:
(please note that this is not an inclusive list)
  1. Brain function and neuroscience
  2. Couples, families, children, and adolescents
  3. Special Populations, e.g., elderly, LGBTQ, veterans
  4. Expressive and creative therapies
  5. Multicultural counseling
  6. Innovative treatments, skill building, and practice
  7. Ethics
  8. Healthcare reform
  9. Accountable care organizations
Feel free to pass these suggestions on to others who may be interested in submitting a program and looking for ideas. The deadline for submission is Friday, December 13, 2013, 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time.
