Dear clinicians and clinicians-in-training,
Florida Atlantic University’s Department of Counselor
Education and the Beta Rho Chi chapter of Chi Sigma Iota would like to invite
you to attend a day-long seminar on the new DSM-5 at Florida Atlantic
University. By the end of this training, clinicians will gain competency in
their ability to apply the DSM-5 to their clinical practice and will understand
the various changes which have occurred as a result of this recent revision to
our diagnostic manual. A leader in the field, Dr. Paul Peluso, (chair of the
American Counseling Association’s DSM-5 task force) will be presenting on DSM-5
revisions as they relate to general clinical practice and individual disorders.
The workshop will take place on Friday, October 25, 2013 from 9:00 am until
4:00 pm. Registration will begin at 8:30 am and six CEUs will be provided. The
event is being held in the College of Business, room 120.
Both members of the community and students are encouraged
to take advantage of this very unique opportunity to learn about these
interesting changes in our field. This CEU workshop is being offered for a
reduced fee of only $59.95, and Beta Rho Chi members will be given a ten dollar
discount. Interested parties should RSVP by filling out the attached
registration form and sending it to Darlene Epperson at Frederic@fau.edu. Please note that
registration forms are due by Thursday, October 10th, 2013
and credit cards and checks will be accepted. A flyer with the workshop
schedule and registration form is attached. We look forward to seeing you in
October.
Sincerely,
The Department of Counselor Education and the Beta Rho Chi
Chapter of Chi Sigma Iota.
