Two Positions - Assistant Professor

Department of Counseling and Family Therapy

The University of Saint Joseph is seeking to fill three full-time tenure track positions (pending final approval) in its CACREP accredited Clinical Mental Health Counseling and School Counseling programs. Two of these positions are new to the Department and will serve to meet needs created by enrollment growth. All three positions will start during the month of August 2014. Successful candidates will have academic, as well as clinical experience specific to the CMHC or School Counseling, possess a strong work ethic, and have the ability to engage others in a professionally caring manner. Clinical experience working with children will be viewed favorably but not required.

Responsibilities include teaching, scholarly publication in the field of counseling, advising students, assisting with the coordination of practicum and internship placements, and participating in service related work at the department, school, and institutional levels.

Qualifications include completion of an earned doctoral degree (ABD within one year of graduating will be considered) in Counselor Education (preferably from a CACREP accredited program), clinical and teaching experience germane to the position, and a personal commitment to implementing a curriculum designed to prepare students for competent counseling practice.
