Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, invites applications for an assistant professor position in the School Counseling program. The successful candidate will provide teaching, supervision, research, and service. The candidate will also provide advisement and mentoring, assist with program development activities, and fulfill service responsibilities to the division, college, and university to advance the university and counseling profession. The candidate will be expected to teach in a variety of educational formats including traditional, intensive, and online, both on campus and at NSU campuses in Florida. Faculty also work in collaboration with other colleagues in the Center for Psychological Studies and community partners, develop and carry out a research/grant agenda, demonstrate a commitment to diversity, and supervise students in practicum and in internship field placements.

Qualifications:  The applicant must possess a doctorate in Counselor Education (doctoral degree must be earned and conferred by date of hire) and be certified or eligible for certification as a Professional School Counselor. Preference will be given to applicants from a CACREP-accredited program with documented experience in the field of school counseling, active involvement in professional counseling organizations, experience with educational technology, and a commitment to interdisciplinary collaboration.

Minimum Qualifications:
·         Doctorate degree in Counselor Education or Counseling
·         Experience working as a Professional School Counselor
·         Certified or eligible for certification as a school counselor in Florida
·         Commitment to the professional field of Counselor Education and School Counseling as evidenced by education, teaching, counseling experience, research, and professional affiliations, such as ASCA and ACA
·         Experience teaching graduate level courses or seminars
·         Commitment to developing diversity and multicultural counseling competencies
