Program in Counselor Education

 

Position:   Assistant Professor of Counselor Education, Rehabilitation Counseling (Tenure Track)

 

Minimum Qualifications:

• Earned doctorate in Rehabilitation Counseling or a closely related field or Counselor
• Education with specialty preparation in rehabilitation counseling (degree by date of hire)
• Certified Rehabilitation Counselor certification, CRC

 

Preferred Qualifications:  

• Broad-based experience serving varied populations of persons with disabilities
• A record of research productivity
• Experience providing high quality training of rehabilitation counselors using distance education technology (e.g., Blackboard)
• Experience teaching as a faculty member, graduate teaching assistant, or doctoral intern within a counselor education program
• Broad-based experience serving varied populations of persons with disabilities

       

 

Responsibilities:

• Teach graduate courses in both rehabilitation education and general counselor education curriculum
• Develop and pursue a sustained research agenda resulting in publications and external funding
• Participate in program initiatives, advising and faculty decisions
