Position Summary:
The School of Humanities and Social Sciences at Monmouth University is seeking applications for a Specialist Professor in the Psychological Counseling Department, which is located at the Monmouth Park Corporate Center.

This anticipated opening is for the 2013-2014 academic year. It is non-tenure track with a one-year initial appointment subject to subsequent multi-year reappointments without limit.

The candidate would be expected to: teach 12 credits per semester; serve on committees; advise students; and maintain disciplinary currency.

Required Skills or Software:
Basic Knowledge of MS Word 2007
Basic Knowledge of MS Excel 2007
Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills
Must be able to treat confidential and sensitive information appropriately  
Required Years of Experience:
 
Required Degree, Licenses or Certifications:
Doctoral degree
ABD candidates may be considered with degree completion expected by date of employment  
Other Requirements:
Earned doctoral degree in Counselor Education and Supervision (preferably from a CACREP-accredited program). Licensed, or license-eligible Professional Counselor in state of New Jersey (LPC).

Demonstrated, or substantial promise of effectiveness as a teacher and mentor, and student guidance at the graduate level. Ability to work constructively with members of the University community. Evidence of work with diverse populations.  
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior teaching experience on the graduate level. Approved Clinical Supervisor (ACS) certification. National Certified Counselor (NCC) certification.

Evidence of ability to teach core courses in a graduate counseling program. Ability to teach online/ hybrid courses. Experience teaching Couples and Family Counseling, as well as Statistics and Research Methods.
