Webinar: Autism Spectrum Disorder



With the prevalence of Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASDs) on the rise, schools are charged to take action. This presentation will provide participants with information regarding the current research in defining ASDs and how to properly service children with ASD in the schools.

Presenter: Stephanie Carter Larson, PhD


Dr. Larson is an Associate Chair for the College of Education and the Program Chair for the School Counseling program at Argosy University, Sarasota. She received her PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision in 2004 from the University of Florida. She earned her MA and EdS in School Counseling, also from the University of Florida; and a BA in Dance from St. Leo College.

Dr. Larson has more than 22 years experience as an educator. She has been with Argosy University since 2007. She worked in Florida public school systems from 1994 to 2007 where she served as a school counselor and dance educator during her 13 year tenure. Dr. Larson has also taught courses for the University of Florida and New College of Florida. 

Dr. Larson is a member of the Florida School Counselor Association and the American School Counselor Association and serves as the Ethics Chair for FSCA. Community service includes serving on the Board of Directors of Moving Ethos Dance Company, conducting professional development workshops, and mentoring school counselors in the public schools.
