SAVVY CAREGIVER PROGRAM

SAVVY CAREGIVER PROGRAM The Alvin A. Dubin Alzheimer’s Resource Center, in conjunction with Grace Church of Cape Coral, will be hosting the Savvy Caregiver Program for family caregivers. These sessions will be held on Tuesdays, starting May 16h thru June 20th from 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. at Grace Church, 13 SE 21st Place, Cape Coral 33990. Grace will provide respite for loved ones with memory impairment while their caregivers attend the course. Respite includes important socialization, music, art and on occasion pet activities. Snacks and respite are provided at no cost.

This educational program is designed to train family caregivers in basic knowledge, skills, and attitudes needed to navigate the challenges of caring for a family member with Alzheimer’s disease or related dementia. Sessions are delivered in 2-hour intervals over a 6-week period. Registration is required for caregivers and their loved one. There is no charge for this program and seating is limited. This program is made possible through a grant from the Cape Coral Community Foundation. The Alvin A. Dubin Alzheimer’s Resource Center, a United Way partner agency, provides information, support, and education for individuals with Alzheimer’s disease or related memory impairment disorders and their caregivers in Lee and Hendry Counties. The Dubin Alzheimer’s Resource Center is located at 12468 Brantley Commons Court, Fort Myers.
