TapTalk Title:           Encouragement: A Way of Being With Clients (and Others)

Brief Description of TapTalk:  Although often misconstrued as merely an Adlerian technique, Encouragement is actually a way of being with others, particularly those with whom we work in our various people helping capacities.  This TapTalk will help listeners better understand (1) how Encouragement is much more than merely an Adlerian technique and (2) the skills/procedures of Encouragement and the relationship of those skills/procedures to other theoretical approaches.

Presenter:       Richard E. Watts, Ph.D., is Distinguished Professor of Counseling and Director of the Ph.D. Program in Counselor Education at Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas. Richard is a Diplomate in Adlerian Psychology and the current President of the North American Society for Adlerian Psychology (NASAP).
