Dean of the Elaine Nicpon Marieb College of Health & Human Services

We are pleased to announce that Dr. Ann H. Cary will join FGCU as dean of the Elaine Nicpon Marieb College of Health & Human Services, effective Aug. 30. Dr. Cary is coming to FGCU from the University of Missouri-Kansas City where she serves as dean of the School of Nursing and Health Studies.


Dr. Cary serves as chair of the board of directors for the American Association of Colleges of Nursing and on the U.S. Secretary of Health And Human Services National Advisory Council for Nursing Education and Practice. Her previous appointments include leadership positions at Loyola University of New Orleans, the University of Massachusetts Amherst, the American Nurses Credentialing Center, George Mason University, Louisiana State University Health Science Center and The Catholic University of America.

Dr. Cary holds a Ph.D. in education and counseling from The Catholic University of America; a master’s in public health from the Tulane School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine; and a B.S. in nursing from Louisiana State University Health Science Center.

We welcome Dr. Cary and extend our sincere thanks to Dr. Joan Glacken, who has served as interim dean of the Marieb College.
