The Department of Counseling at FGCU would like to extend our congratulations to the ASCA 2019 School Counselor of the Year Finalists.
ASCA is excited to announce the finalists for the 2019 School Counselor of the Year award. The award honors the school counseling professionals who devote their careers to serving as advocates for the nation’s students, helping them achieve success in school and in life. Nominations for the School Counselor of the Year awards program were submitted by the state school counselor associations.The six finalists are:
• Roberto Aguilar, Milwaukie High School, Milwaukie, Ore.
• Brian Coleman, Jones College Prep, Chicago, Ill.
• Jan Desmarais-Morse, Goshen Middle School, Goshen, Ind.
• DesirĂ© DeSoto, Waianae High School, Waianae, Hawaii
• Sarah Kirk, Monroe Elementary School, Norman, Okla.
• Nwakaego Edordu Oriji, Dr. Billy E. Dade Middle School, Dallas, Texas
