Wisonsin: St. Anthony School is currently looking for a School Counselor for our High School Campus


St. Anthony School is currently looking for a School Counselor for our High School Campus. This individual must be responsible for supporting and assisting the classroom teachers in daily classroom activities by performing the following duties: 
  1. Responsible for being a Ministry of presence.
  1. Maintains a presence at activities which will allow for interaction, observation and trust building with students, primarily Hispanic Club and Campus Ministry. 
  1. Performs one on one meetings requested by students. 
  1. Establishes policies and procedures for meeting during class time and communicates this to staff, students and parents.
  1. Attends in a timely manner those persons who request this service. 
  1. Maintains confidentiality and respects norms of mandatory reporting. 
  1. Refers students to professional counseling service or care provider. 
  1. Performs meetings requested by parents or referrals by staff. 
  1. Establishes a procedure and communicates it to staff and parents. 
  1. Detects areas of formation that affect students’ well-being, self-knowledge and development, especially in the area of chastity and life skills including coping and relationships. 
  1. Observes and interacts with students. 
  1. Requests staff insight and open lines of communication while maintaining student or parent confidentiality. 
  1. Responsible for proposing activities to insert into existing after school programs or possibly new club, conferences, periodic workshops and visits. 
  1. Investigates and begins offering counseling when requested by High School students on post High School options including college, technical school or work options. 
  1. Meets with admission offices to obtain procedural information.
  2. Investigates community mentoring or internship programs and makes connections. 
  1. Makes a list of referrals, updates and improves given feedback from professional counselors, social service and Church agencies. 
  1. Provides information upon request. 
  1. Collects materials and resources. 
  1. Investigates and attends pertinent courses and conferences. 
  1. Keeps a log of hours spent per area of responsibility and reports this to Director. 
  1. Responsible for having periodic meetings with Director for consultation and reporting. 
  1. Attends selected staff meetings and teacher training sessions in order to work according to school policy and to establish open lines of communication and team work with staff.
