CareerSource to Hire 200 Workers For
“Food for Florida” Program

FT MYERS, FLA – CareerSource Southwest Florida has received a grant
to hire up to 200 full time, temporary workers to implement the “Food for
Florida” program.
“This is an opportunity for
individuals to get involved in the community and get paid for their efforts”
said Joe Paterno, Executive Director of CareerSource Southwest Florida.
“We need to do
a big shout-out to all the first responders and tip-our hats to all volunteers
post Irma but there are those who have lost wages, need to provide for their
families and require a paycheck to do so.” said Paterno
The National Dislocated Workers
Grant (DWG) is designed specifically for those individuals who want to help
rebuild their communities but also earn a paycheck to provide for their
families basic needs.
CareerSource
is recruiting for three types of positions:
Line Maintenance/Greeters: Greet individuals and ensure an orderly
flow of line traffic.
Eligibility Aids: Check IDs for local residency and contact
information
Site Supervisors: Assign work schedules, process reports and time
cards.
Anyone who has been dislocated
from their job due to Hurricane Irma or is experiencing long term unemployment
