A collaborative and flexible school counselor to support the Developmental Counseling Model for middle level students is needed at Yorkville Middle School. This position delivers services through the framework of ensuring that students are acquiring skills and knowledge in the three areas of academics, college and career, and social emotional. This position requires preventive and crisis counseling, academic goal setting, and providing direct instruction of the social emotional curriculum. This position is an integral component to the transition process of our students from elementary school to high school as well as the course selection process. This position requires the collection and use of data to set goals within the problem solving process. Strong oral and written communication skills for effective and efficient communication with all stakeholders is needed as well as the ability to build a partnership with student families.
