The NBCC Foundation
(NBCCF), the philanthropic affiliate of NBCC, is bridging the gap in
mental health services for underserved minority, military and rural
communities. NBCCF is seeking to hire a full-time program director.
The candidate should have at least five years of program management
experience, preferably in a nonprofit setting. The candidate should
have demonstrated experience in learning event development and
implementation. Candidate should possess a minimum of three years’
experience in grant implementation. We offer a warm, friendly work

Our ideal candidate
possesses strong analytical, problem-solving, organization and
conflict resolution skills. This individual should also have very
strong and effective interpersonal communication, presentation and
listening skills. The ability to learn technology systems and
processes is also required.
The program director
oversees the coordination and administration of the Foundation’s
scholarship, fellowship and capacity building programs including
planning, organizing, staff oversight, leading, and controlling
program activities. The program director writes grant proposals,
manages large-scale donations, assesses needs and ensures that
program objectives are met. This position requires that complete
confidentiality be maintained.
Program Director
Responsibilities:
- Participates in the development,
implementation and evaluation of the annual work plan.
- Coordinates the implementation and evaluation
of Foundation award programs, including but not limited to the
scholarship, fellowship and capacity building programs.
- Supervises staff, interns and volunteers.
- Provides team support during the absence of
the executive director.
- Coordinates with communications and program
staff to implement the design, production and distribution of
program materials including, but not limited to, program
implementation documents, program announcements, letters, e-mail
and social media communications, brochures, grant reports, grant
proposals and websites.
- Leads the development of webinars, including
securing high-quality presenters, and works in collaboration
with the learning events assistant to facilitate the live
presentation of the webinars.
- Works with the executive director in the
development of new programs and initiatives to support the
strategic direction of the organization.
- Establishes and maintains relationships with
universities, other agencies and organizations in order to
successfully achieve the goals and objectives of the Foundation.
- Coordinates with the grants & events
project manager to plan, implement and evaluate learning events
to educate National Certified Counselors (NCCs) and the general
public about the Foundation and topics related to its
priorities.
- Participates in the prospecting, development,
implementation and evaluation of grant projects.
- Participates in organization-wide planning
activities.
- Prepares reports for management as needed.
- Prepares and makes presentations to the board
of directors or senior management as directed.
- Other duties as assigned.
What We Require:
- Master’s degree in counseling required
- NCC certification required
- Minimum of five years’ experience is required
in program management, preferably in a nonprofit setting
- Minimum of five years’ experience in learning
event development and implementation is required
- Minimum of three years’ experience in grant
implementation preferred
- Minimum of two years’ experience in
successful communication through online platforms required
- Substantial experience with and understanding
of the priority service populations of the Foundation required
- Strong analytical, problem-solving,
organization and conflict resolution skills are necessary
- Very strong and effective interpersonal
communication, presentation and listening skills are required
- Demonstrated success and ability to manage
multiple projects
- Or equivalent combination of education and
experience

Details:
The position is full-time
exempt, located in Greensboro, North Carolina, and offers a
competitive salary. The position occasionally requires travel
overnight. The candidate should be able to work some evening and
weekend hours as needed.
