FGCU Office of Continuing Education & Off-Campus Programs
Presents Solution Focused Brief Counseling & Consultation Workshop
FORT
MYERS, Fla. – The Office of Continuing Education & Off-Campus Programs at
Florida Gulf Coast University (FGCU) presents Solution Focused Brief
Counseling and Consultation (SFBC), a workshop targeted principally
at school counselors, mental health counselors, marriage and family
therapists, psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, human services
professionals and educators. SFBC uses a systematic,
five-step approach in which clients, students and parents focus on solutions
rather than problems. The workshop meets 8:30 a.m. to noon on
two Saturdays, Sept. 10 and Oct. 8, at The Atrium, 8695 College
Parkway, Suite 1181, Fort Myers; and costs $99 for both sessions.
Solution
Focused Brief Counseling and Consultation is instructed by Russell A.
Sabella, professor of counseling in the College of Health Professions and
Social Work at FGCU, and president of Sabella & Associates. Sabella

and has co-authored two books, “Confronting Sexual Harassment: Learning
Activities for Teens,” (Educational Media;
1995) and “Counseling in the 21st century: Using Technology to
