POSITION DESCRIPTION

Project HOPE Crisis Counselor Team Leader                           
      
PAY RANGE                                                NON-EXEMPT
   $15-17 / hour


General Description:

The role of the Crisis Counselor is to ensure integration of any service systems related to the Crisis Counseling Program. This position is used to establish collaborative associations that positively affect crisis counseling, disaster behavioral health and assessments; to coordinate data collection and promote the mission, vision and core values of _________.

Essential Functions:

1.    Works with individuals, families, and groups to provide outreach, emotional support, individual and group crisis counseling, public education, and referrals when needed.
2.    Is synonymous with the term 'outreach worker'.

3.   Represents program in the community and networks with other agencies and partners to ensure needs of survivors are met.

4.    Provides presentations to community groups on disaster reactions, coping skills, stress management and the CCP.

5.     May use the mobile application to complete data forms.


Other Functions:
1.    Other tasks as assigned.


Physical Requirements:

Energy, persistence and stamina sufficient for extended working hours and engaging in extensive travel.


Education:
High school diploma; Bachelors preferred.  Consideration given to experience.


Experience:
A minimum of 4 years of social service experience preferred.

Skills:
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, constructively and supportively with staff, providers and community stakeholders while also maintaining high standards of excellence.  Must show ability to work independently and be able to manage time efficiently.  Must be able to use discretion and judgment to implement management policies when interacting with community members.

Other:
Must demonstrate sensitivity to our service population's cultural and socioeconomic characteristics and needs.

Principal Accountabilities:
1. Reports to the CCP Team Leader.
2.   Team player with providers, co-workers and office staff.
3.    Accurate, complete and timely submission of required reports and proposals.

4. Adherence to policies and management practices.
