FGCU breaks ground on Student and Community Counseling Center

Florida Gulf Coast University is expanding access to mental and behavioral healthcare for underserved populations in Southwest Florida. The university officially broke ground Tuesday on its Student and Community Counseling Center.

KAP Keys for Clinicians based on TIP 54 provides the busy clinician with concise, easily accessed, how-to information on chronic noncancer pain, pain management, treatment, and recovery for adults with substance use disorders.
It includes elements of a comprehensive patient assessment, an algorithm for managing chronic pain in patients with substance use disorders, a summary of non-opioid analgesics, a list of steps to take if opioid therapy is indicated, an addiction behaviors checklist, and an exit strategy for discontinuation of opioid therapy.

This quick guide covers functions of a clinical supervisor, developmental levels of counselors and clinical supervisors, cultural competence, ethical and legal issues, and monitoring clinical performance of counselors. The guide also covers practical issues, such as how to balance clinical and administrative duties. (SMA13-4770)
Quick Guide for Administrators Based on TIP 52
Helping Administrators Develop Best-Practices Programs
This quick guide provides guidance to program administrators on how to develop a model for clinical supervision and how to implement a clinical supervision program. It also presents key issues, including cultural competence, for administrators to consider. (SMA13-4771)
