Position
Marquette University announces a tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professor position in the Department of Counselor Education and Counseling Psychology. Join a future-focused counselor education program committed to preparing professional counselors within a framework of social justice, multiculturalism, advocacy and leadership.  Responsibilities include teaching core and clinical mental health counseling, supervising and advising students, maintaining a strong program of research and participating in professional and community service.  All department faculty members contribute to curriculum development, program assessment and other administrative tasks.

Qualifications
Position requirements include: an earned doctorate in Counselor Education or a related doctorate with full-time experience teaching in counselor education prior to July 2013; evidence of strong abilities in teaching and supervision and capacity to maintain a program of research. Preference will be given to applicants with interests and expertise in one or more of the following areas: counseling diagnosis, assessment and treatments; crisis and trauma counseling; addictions and statistics and research methods. Competence in multicultural counseling and advocacy, familiarity with CACREP accreditation and immediate eligibility for Wisconsin licensure are highly desirable. The Department
Marquette University is a Catholic, Jesuit, doctoral research university located on a beautiful urban campus just minutes from downtown Milwaukee. The CECP Department, located in the College of Education, consists of 7 full-time faculty members and 63 masters and 22 doctoral students. The Department offers a 60-hour program in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, a 48-hour School Counseling program, and a doctoral program in Counseling Psychology. The counselor education program is pursuing initial CACREP accreditation with a site visit scheduled spring 2014.
