The University of Missouri—St. Louis is one of the four campuses of the University of Missouri system and is the third largest university in Missouri (with approximately 17,000 students). It is located in the St. Louis metropolitan area close to many cultural, athletic, and entertainment venues. Housing is available on or near campus. Assistantships and other employment opportunities are available for qualified applicants.

A major emphasis in all of our graduate training is our commitment to cultural diversity and social justice. In addition, our PhD in Counseling and our M.Ed. Programs in School and Clinical Mental Health Counseling are all accredited by the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP). We are one of only five programs in Missouri and the only campus of the University of Missouri to hold such accreditation.
For 2013-2016, the Counseling Program was ranked 11th nationally of all counselor education programs in the US and ranked 2nd of all graduate programs at the University of Missouri – Saint Louis. These rankings are based on the scholarly production of professors at research universities in the United States, as put together by Academic Analytics - http://www.academicanalytics.com

The deadline to apply is February 1 of each year although students are encouraged to start early. Applications will be considered for admission on a space available basis to qualified applicants beyond the deadline. Applications are reviewed by the Admissions Committee and interviews are scheduled between February 10th and March 15th. The mission of
Florida Gulf Coast University's (FGCU) Counseling Programs is to prepare
exemplary professional practitioners, leaders, and scholars. The programs use a
research-practitioner approach that integrates the use of current technology,
supervised field experiences, scholarly inquiry, and intellectual and creative
resources to work with an increasingly diverse and global society. The program
trains counselors who work in pre-K through grade 12 schools, social service,
government agencies, hospitals, community organizations, and private practice.
The FGCU counseling programs educate well-rounded counselors who demonstrate
competence included in the high standards as set forth by our accreditation and
