NAMI Walk

One of the best ways that NAMI gets the community involved is with their annual NAMI Walks event in downtown Fort Myers in which the community gets together to learn about and support mental illness in a safe and accepting environment. I am contacting you for a few reasons; first and foremost I reached out to you so that you may also advertise or inform the students of this FREE event so as to foster a growing mental health community. Additionally, it is extremely important in building an educated and supportive community for mental health among the youth and we would love to have some representation from FGCU or even a team from FGCU join us for this FREE event!

Additionally this walk is meant to raise funds for NAMI, a national mental health advocacy program, to continue education and support in our communities, so I was wondering if the counseling departments, or even FGCU, would be interested in donating or sponsoring during the event. Attached below is the link to the walk with all of the information on NAMI and the walk as well as a sponsorship form below. In the scholarship form are the different donation levels and what you get with each level of donation, which may include your logos on our banners, t-shirts, and posters for NAMI Walk. Even if you could point me in the right direction of other agencies or organizations that might be interested in being involved, that would be a tremendous help as well! Ideally, we just want to see as many people out at the event as we can so we can continue growing support and educating the public!
