Part Time Clinical Therapist at Children's Advocacy Center of SWFL, Inc.

Job description


We are seeking qualified candidates for a part-time position with the Family Alliance team as a licensed or license eligible therapist for child-centered outpatient treatment program specializing in abuse issues.

Two years’ experience working with children, a Master’s degree in social work, mental health counseling or psychology is required. Bilingual person a plus. Position requires person to work primarily evenings during the week. Flexibility a plus.

Requirements

Master's degree (M. A.) or equivalent in Psychology, Social Work, Mental Health Counseling. Upon hire the therapist must be licensed or become licensed within two years of hire by the Florida Business and Professional Regulations.

REGISTRATION OPEN FOR NATIONAL CONFERENCE ON AUTISM SPECTRUM DISORDER

            (Fort Myers) February 15, 2017 --- Registration is now open for parents, educators and health care professionals interested in attending a national conference on autism, “Promising Pathways The Road to Best Practice in Autism Spectrum Disorder,” to be held on Saturday, April 8, 2017, in the Student Union Ballroom at Florida Gulf Coast University, Fort Myers, Fla.  Check in begins at 8 a.m. Conference ends at 4 p.m.
We have invited keynote presenters from the previous nine conferences to help celebrate this event. Each presenter will discuss topics based on their most current research and/or latest works since their last visit to the conference.  
              Promising Pathways the Road to Best Practice in Autism Spectrum Disorder conference is free and open to the public.  Reservations are required. A limited number of campus restaurants will be open for lunch.

Spotting Mental Illness in Students

NSHSS Conference Grants for ASCA 2017

The National Society of High School Scholars (NSHSS) recognizes and appreciates the invaluable work high school counselors' play in preparing students for college and careers. To honor their contributions, NSHSS, in collaboration with ASCA, will offer five $1,000 grants to enable ASCA members (currently employed at a public or private high school in the United States) to attend the 2017 ASCA Annual Conference in Denver, Colo., July 8-11. The funds may be used to defray the costs of conference registration, travel and accommodations.

How to Apply:
Applications are available on the NSHSS website and will be accepted through March 31, 2017. To apply, register as an educator online. Click the Grants link at the top of your dashboard after you sign in. If you are already registered as an Educator with NSHSS, sign in to your dashboard to apply for the grant.

Southeastern School Behavioral Health Conference



The emotional and mental health of students is paramount to their academic success.  The Southeastern School Behavioral Health Conference seeks to bring together education and mental health professionals to discuss the emotional, mental, and behavioral health needs of K-12 students.  Presentations highlighting bullying, suicide prevention, school climate, evidenced based interventions, teaching with excellence, and many more will offer 8 hours of instruction to counselors, social workers, teachers, psychologists, SROs, coaches, nurses, and others.

This year’s conference will be held in Myrtle Beach, SC, on April 27 & 28, 2017 and will feature keynote speakers George Sugai, PhD, Neag School of Education, University of Connecticut (PBIS expert) and Gloria Reeves, MD, University of Maryland School of Medicine (adolescent psychiatrist).  Our theme, “Moving Toward Exemplary and High Impact School Behavioral Health,” will be explored by university professors and other experts in education and mental health to help conference attendees make a greater impact on child mental and behavioral health in the southeast.
